The Bronx – Today, Congressman José E. Serrano joined millions of Americans to mark the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated every year from September 15 through October 15.

Serrano applauded the decision by the United States Postal Service, after pressure from elected officials that he led and the public, to cancel most planned service cuts to the Bronx. The cuts would have reduced staffing at post offices across the borough, and would have degraded service quality at a number of locations.
