Congressman Serrano Votes for the American Promise and Dream Act

Last week, Congressman Serrano voted in favor of H.R. 6, the American Promise and Dream Act which would create a path to citizenship for Temporary Protected Status recipients (TPS), Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) recipients, and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients. Congressman Serrano has been a long time advocate for comprehensive immigration reform and he believes this is a step in the right direction. H.R. 6 passed the House with a 237 votes in favor and 187 against, the bill now moves on to the Senate. 


House Sends $19 Billion Disaster Relief Package to the President 

Congressman Serrano joined Speaker Pelosi, Chairwoman Lowey and others at the signing of a $19 billion disaster relief package to address the damage done by hurricanes, flooding earthquakes and wildfires in recent years all across the country. The bill was passed by the Senate and signed into law by the President on Thursday last week. Congressman Serrano was instrumental in ensuring that Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands received an adequate amount of funding as part of the package for their rebuilding efforts.
