Serrano Statement on Funding Allocation To Reimburse NY for protecting President-elect Trump in FY2017 Continuing Resolution
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman José E. Serrano issued the following statement:
“I am very disappointed that only $7 million was included in the continuing resolution to reimburse New York City for the costs of protecting the President-elect. This is a matter of basic fairness- other cities have been reimbursed in the past for identical costs- and now New York City should be treated the same way. New Yorkers alone should not have to bear what are really national costs. Myself, Ranking Member Lowey, Congresswoman Maloney and the other Members of the New York delegation will keep on fighting in the future for the remainder of this funding.”
Congressman José E. Serrano has represented The Bronx in Congress since 1990.
