“This opening represents a significant achievement for this district, and for our continuing efforts to ensure that more Bronx residents have access to quality, affordable health care,” Serrano said after the ceremony. “This new facility is committed to working with children and families regardless of immigration status and will thereby improve the health and well-being of thousands of bronx residents each year.”

Founded in 1987 by singer/songwriter Paul Simon and children's advocate Dr. Irwin Redlener, the Children's Health Fund provides comprehensive health care services to children most in need of it. Since its founding, CHF has worked with Montefiore Medical center to provide primary care to children and their families in the South Bronx.

The Congressman joined former Mayor and current Children's Health Fund board member David Dinkins and co-founder Irwin Redlener at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
